Why I Wrote Raising Children in the Age of Screens

Raising Children in the Age of Screens grew from years of teaching, parenting, and conversations with families and educators who are seeing firsthand how screens are shaping children’s attention, learning, emotional development, and classroom experiences.

As an educator, I have watched children grow up in a world where technology is always present. Screens are part of their learning, entertainment, communication, and daily routines. At the same time, parents and teachers are asking important questions: How much is too much? How are screens affecting attention? What do children need from adults in this changing world?

This book was written as a guide for parents, educators, and caregivers who want to better understand children in today’s screen-filled world. It is not about fear. It is about awareness, balance, and support.

My hope is that this book opens meaningful conversations and helps families and educators work together with more understanding, compassion, and clarity.
